Employer Presentation – Design Your Own Destiny with Starwood’s Vita Futura Graduate Programme

Presentation and Speed Interviews – 9th February at 1pm – Paisley Campus

Starwood is the international organisation behind such brands as Sheraton, The Luxury Collection, St Regis & Le Meridian.

VITA FUTURA is Starwood`s graduate management program designed for ambitious people. At the moment, it runs right across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

The programme was designed by two Starwood management trainees, with an aspiration to create a program that no other company could match. They believed that the best learning and the best training can only be achieved through the creative participation of the graduates themselves. VITA FUTURA is therefore a program that you design to suit your career desires. It also allows you to share your experiences with other VITA FUTURA trainees and benefit from the knowledge and expertise of Starwood Leaders across the globe.

Do you fit their Criteria?

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Fluent in English and 1 other language
  • Have a “can do” attitude and leadership capabilities
  • Willingness to relocate
  • Hospitality experience is favourable but not essential

If you do, then don’t miss out on this opportunity to come along and hear more at this presentation… book your place NOW! To book, log in here:

After the presentation, representatives of the organisation will invite all students interested in applying to stay behind for speed interviews. These will take 10 minutes and you will be informed about the outcome within a few days. All students who pass this phase will then be e-mailed an online assessment to complete. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to undergo final interviews, after which all successful candidates will be invited to a two day assessment centre in Brussels in April. All costs for attending the assessment centre are covered by Starwood.

NB You must bring a copy of your CV on the day! Remember that you can access advice on your CV and on interview techniques via our Careers Service.

The importance of work experience

A new research report has hit the news this morning that emphasises the importance of work experience.

The report from High Fliers Research shows that employers are recruiting more graduates – but also that there are record numbers of graduates chasing these jobs. The report also warns that graduates from the ‘Class of 2012’ who’ve had no work experience at all whilst at university stand little or no chance of getting a job offer from the country’s most prestigious graduate employers – and that a record 36% of this year’s graduate vacancies are expected to be filled by applicants who have already worked for the organisation during their studies.

Media Reports:

BBC – Graduate jobs ‘taken by work experience students’

Guardian – Graduates without work experience face struggle to secure jobs, report says

Mail Online – ‘Jobs bottleneck’ as graduates struggling to find work creates backlog

The full report can be downloaded from the High Fliers Website
